Chamber Ensemble
Return to Concordia Concert Choir Main Page
Concert Choir students have the opportunity to participate in a smaller vocal chamber ensemble. Typically an eight to twelve-voice group, the repertoire ranges from Renaissance motets to contemporary Christian music. This group gives students yet another fun and professional opportunity to praise God through song.Originally known as "Happy Together", it began in the early 70's as a small folk group within the Concordia Concert Choir and has since grown to do its own performances, often singing for college chapel; local lodge, church, and school concerts; and on tour with the Concert Choir.
In the mid-90's, this group was named "Voices in Praise" and released a CD. In the later 90's, it was an all female group called "Cantabile." In 2001, it was again a mixed group and called "S.O.U.L." (Sing Out Unto the Lord).
