The Art & Work of Choir is a three-part series on the development of the choral sound. It was produced by ACCESS-TV where it is regularly broadcast. Program #1: The Voice...
examines the vocal instrument. Viewers will learn about breathing and posture, as well as phonation, resonance, and articulation. This program also covers vocalises, the importance of listening and ensemble applications.
Program #2: The Music...
covers selecting choral music, preliminary and interpretive score study, and marking the score. It also examines rehearsal preparation and rehearsal techniques.
Program #3: Voice & Music...
focuses on the words in choral music. This program examines vowels, vowel formation, diphthongs, consonants and consonant context. Musical application of diction and the conductor's role are also covered.
