Performances

Performance SchedulePerformances form a central part of the School of Music. Not only does the School sponsor many concerts locally and on tour each year, but Concordia ensembles participate as guests on other programs.

Annually, Concordia’s major concert events include the Sacred Music Festival, a three-concert orchestra season, a Christmas Concert, Ringers Performances, a Community Chorus spring concert, and Concert Choir Performances. A complete schedule is posted annually, which includes dates, times, and places of Concordia events as well as appearance by Concordia musicians elsewhere. Ticket information is available through the Concordia Box Office.

Ensembles, faculty, and students are generally open to invitations for special performances.  Ensembles have performed at provincial and national conferences of musicians, educators, and churches, as well as special events planned both locally and out of town.  With plenty of advanced notice, plans can be made to work within the demands of the academic schedule as well as the needs of the host organization.  There are not standard performance fees, although attempts to recover costs are generally made.  Concordia is committed to supporting our community and has participated in events sponsored by the Christmas Bureau, the Mustard Seed, the Snowflake Gala, Lutheran Hour Ministries, and other churches, schools, and community organizations.
