Evening Activities for Adults

Adult Summer Choir

Dr. John BroughRehearses with Dr. Brough Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm in A314. Concert and reception Friday night at 7:30 pm.

Dr. Brough is Choirmaster and Director of Music at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, artistic director of the Da Camera Singers, and interim Director of Music of the Richard Eaton Singers, where he has served as Associate Conductor since 2005. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance from the University of Ottawa, and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting and a Doctor of Music degree, both from the University of Alberta.  He also holds associate degrees with the Royal Conservatory of Music and Royal Canadian College of Organists and currently sits on the board of examiners for Conservatory Canada.

In addition to his work conducting, John has been a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta since 1997 where he has taught Music History, Conducting, and Musicianship courses. In 2009, together with local soprano Jolaine Kerley, Dr. Brough founded the Scona Chamber Singers.  The ensemble’s focus is to present rarely performed works for choir and small ensemble, and has received extremely positive reviews from the Edmonton community.

Dr. Brough is sought after throughout Canada as an adjudicator and clinician.  An outstanding teacher, he was a recipient of a Graduate Student Teaching award from the University of Alberta in 2004.

Handbells For Community Members

HandbellsRingspiration Summer Ensemble

Parents and teachers, come ring! Ringspiration Summer Ensemble is a bell choir open to Singspiration parents, teachers, church directors, Concordia staff, and community members who wish to come ring. No experience is necessary. Ringspiration Summer Ensemble runs Monday and Tuesday evening from 7-9pm in the Tegler Centre during the week of Singspiration. Cost is $30.
