Adult Summer Choir
Rehearses Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 7-9pm in A314. Concert and reception Friday night at 7pm.
Adult Choir Update
Unfortunately, George Evelyn is unable to come HOWEVER we are very pleased to announce a unique opportunity for 2011! The adult choir will be directed by well-known singer and voice teacher Eva Bostrand. Eva is practically a legend in the Alberta music scene, devoting much of her professional life to welcoming singings young and old, new and experienced, into the world of making music. Singing with Eva will be a unique and enriching experience offering great potential to grow as a singer and as a person. You will feel nurtured and blessed to work with her! Inspiration for Teachers participants will be invited to rehearsals Tuesday to Thursday evenings from 7-9:30. Participation in the adult choir is free to all Inspiration for Teacher registrants.
Eva Bostrand began her musical training and performing career in Stockholm, Sweden, where she attended the National University College of Music, the University of Stockholm, and the Stockholms Muiskpedagogiska Institut. Parallel with her vocal, pedagogical and operatic studies, she performed as soloist and ensemble singer in professional and semi-professional vocal groups. Ms. Bostrand was a member of the Swedish Radio Chamber Choir under the direction of Eric Ericson and toured, performed and recorded extensively with the choir. In addition, Ms. Bostrand has sung under Anders Őhrwall, Ricardo Muti, Sir David Willcox, James DePriest and Nikolaus Harnoncourt.
Since coming to Canada, Ms. Bostrand has appeared in solo and chamber music recitals and performed with symphony orchestras, including the Concordia Symphony Orchestra. She has sung as soprano soloist with Pro Coro Canada, Da Camera Singers, and the Concordia Community Chorus. Ms. Bostrand has been voice instruction at the Alberta College Conservatory of Music, the University of Alberta, and Augustana University College. She currently teaches from her own music school, the storefrontstudio in Edmonton. Ms. Bostrand has a passion of voice education and takes great pleasure in leading workshops for voice teachers, music teachers, choirs and voices students of all ages and levels. She is also a choral/vocal adjudicator and clinician at festivals across Canada.
Handbells For Community Members
Ringspiration Adult Ensemble
Parents and teachers, come ring! Ringspiration Adult Ensemble is a bell choir open to Singspiration parents, teachers, church directors, Concordia staff, and community members who wish to come ring. No experience is necessary. Ringspiration Summer Ensemble runs Sunday and Monday evening from 7-9pm in the Hole Academic Centre during the week of Singspiration. Cost is $30.
